Kacee is a cellist, educator, and performing artist. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music under the tutelage of Vagram Saradjian.
Based in Houston, Texas, she performs with Symphony of Southeast Texas and Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, while maintaining a studio of 30-40 students. Many of which, have participated in their middle and high school region orchestras, youth symphonies, or have continued on to undergraduate music programs.
In addition to teaching and playing classical music, Kacee has devoted much of her time to study and perform traditional and contemporary music, musicals, pop, cross-cultural and improvised styles for a vast array of ensembles. She has attended the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Cello Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, Mike Block String Camp, Oregon Bach Festival Composers Symposium, Rice University’s Annual Korean Music Festival, and the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra Summer Academy.
In 2019, she became a founding member of Chamber Collective (a Houston cohort of musicians bringing chamber music to the Greater Houston area) and continues to work closely with local band Merel and Tony. She can be heard in their EPs “Exquisite Details” and “The Worst of All Lovers” (Spotify/Bandcamp).
Kacee is also active in Han Narea, a Korean-American non-profit organization performing traditional Korean percussion genres (on janggu 장구 / buk 북) and traditional dances in schools and cultural festivals across the state. Han Narea has participated in the Houston Korean Festival, Asia Society Texas Center Asia Fest and Discovery Green’s Lunar New Year Festival, AAPI Amplified, and iFest.
